“I’ve always been used to looking at live reporting and going in to examine information as it’s happening rather than simply waiting for a month end report,” said Nick. The issue for Nick and his team was assessing individual performance. “Sometimes we’d overstate and other times we’d understate performance. Until we started using RedView, that is,” said Nick.

Challenges

Before RedView, the firm were relying on the reporting functionality of LEAP, but in the end, only one report was being used. “We also couldn’t review data live - to drill down and produce a report in an instant.” Nick also wanted the ability to analyse projects by contributor, “we could have three, four or five people working on the same file. We need to see individual performance above and beyond project performance.”

“RedView gives us live visibility. It means being able to go in and actually see today where we are month to date on billing across the firm, across fee earners and across departments,” said Nick.

“Frankly, you’d think this is fairly basic but a lot of firms don’t have that functionality and I don’t understand why.”

RESULTS, ROI AND FUTURE PLANS

“There has been a discernible uplift in business, that’s for sure,” said Nick.

“What I’ve been able to do is keep a very close eye on what time should be recorded, where funds are being moved across from one account to another, chasing outstanding invoicing and billing. It’s excellent for making sure anything that’s got a little bit out of date and being progressed is kept active.”
